What I Don’t Know About My Fellow Students

In our world today people tend to hide the real them. We want people to see certain things about our lives. Usually only the best parts of a persons’ life is displayed across social media, bragged about, and recognizable. Just walking down the hall you see people, you judge them on their look. We usually end up categorizing people into groups; preps, jocks, emos, nerd, etc. Most people don’t take the time to get to know a person. They just say “they’re scary I don’t talk to them” or “they’re popular so I don’t like them.” I have been guilty of say each of these things.

I tend to judge people very fast just by the way the look, talk, behave, and who they hang out with. I am making it my goal to try and get to know a person before I decide I don’t like them or am scared of them. Most of the time when you take the time to get know a person your assumption is completely off of who they truly are.

I think that you should still try even if you are 99% sure you’re going to lose. It’s like in a soccer game even if by the end of the second half you are down 9-0 you should still try, if you don’t you are just handing the game over to the other team. You should always go out fighting. Never just hand the enemy victory. Atticus was almost positive that they were going to lose the case but when the trail came around he really shook up the jury and made them really question what their verdict was going to be. Atticus gave it his best even though he knew he wouldn’t win but if he hadn’t tried then it would have just been a quick easy trail and he would have to live with the guilt of knowing that because he didn’t give it his best a man may be put to death. I think that even though his children had suffer as well through the trial it is still best that he did what he did because it set a good example for them and they will always be able to look at their father with pride instead of embarrassment because he didn’t try.

Work Will Work When Wishy Washy Wishing Will Not

At the beginning of the year my goal was to get better at writing essays. Over the last years in junior high I have not done very well in my essay writing, last year I never got an A on an essay I averaged around a B-. So this year I made it my goal to put in more time and thought into my essays so that I could get most A’s on the essays. This year my essay writing has greatly improved I have never got below an A- on any writing assignment this year.

I feel like I could still improve in my annotating. I haven’t really found a love for annotating and so it makes it hard to get into it. I am going to try to really engage in the articles we are annotating and add lots of ROAM+ Predict. I am hoping that by the end of this year I will average an A on all my annotating assignments.
