The Book Thief So Far
So far I have read the first 100 pages of The Book Thief. Now, as far as characters go, I’m well pleased with the crisp personalities. I may not like them, but I do appreciate them. As for the story, I feel very underwhelmed. Sort of like it hasn’t quite picked up yet? I get the sadness and the stillness of story it holds, but even still. Color me bored, for the most part. The characters are somewhat well-developed, but I don’t particularly like any of them. As in, if they all died in the next chapter, it wouldn’t mean much to me. Although it would be ironic to see death die. As for what is going to happen next, it’s almost a shoe-in that Liesel will steal another book, write another letter, and allegedly reading more books as well. I think she will grow closer to Rudy, (The most interesting character, in my opinion), and that her foster mother will grow more attached to her. Liesel Memminger is probably overdue for another emotional beating, too.
