Work will work when wishy washy wishing will not

My goal at the beginning of the year was basically just to get an A. At the begging of the year I ended first term with a B second with an -A, but now I am ending third term with an A ( kids cheering). I really am just hoping to keep my grade up through the end of the year. I think the main thing that will help me with that is keeping up on the homework. In first semester when I forgot an assignment, I had an i and it was really hard to get the assignment graded late to give my grade back. When it did usually my grade was lower than it started with because it was late. So that is my plan, check classroom more and pay more attention to the assignments given during class.

What makes a person great

Their are lots of things that makes a person great. But one of the biggest things to me is humility. To me humility is the way you see yourself and others, and the way you treat yourself and others. It is how you compare yourself to someone else and well trying not to do so. I feel like it is hard to have great humility (even harder in jr,high) but everyone should try their hardest to be kind and care for others and not see others as a bad thing. And I believe that, that is what helps a person become great.

to kill a mockingbird book review

This was a good book that taught good moral standards. I feel this is a book that is good for everyone, but to understand it you need to be able to deep think. That is why it is a good book to read as a class, then we can all come together and think about it. My favorite part of the book is when all the women come together at the finches house basically gossip and talk about poor people. I like how scout is their and she basically just thinks that it is dumb, but is also interested in what they have to say because he see the point of view from everyone.

The book was good too, but not as good as the book. They didn’t get the points across as well as the book did. I did like watching to trail in the movie though because the trial in the book was really confusing. So to put it with the faces and actions it made more sense. I like the actors they chose for the movie but I think the only reason that is, is because we watched the beginning before we read the book so through out the whole book that is all i could see them as. I would not do that next time.Image result for to a mocking

Good stuff

In to kill a mocking bird one of the quotes that I like of chapter 22&23 isĀ “They’ve done it before and they did it tonight and they’ll do it again and when they do it–seems that only children weep (243).” In this one they are talking about when they try innocent people and even when they know they are innocent they have to go with human nature even if its wrong and this cycle repeats itself. Only the kids are curious and innocent enough themselves to know and say that it is wrong. They are kind of referring to when dill cried during the trial. This is really significant to what the author is trying to get through to the reader, she wants you to know that everyone knows its wrong and yet, like every time before, they deny the truth.

An Authority on Courage – Michael Oher

Quote from the blindside movie “Courage is a hard thing to figure. You can have courage based on a dumb idea or mistake, but you’re not supposed to question adults, or your coach or your teacher, because they make the rules. Maybe they know best, but maybe they don’t. It all depends on who you are, where you come from. Didn’t at least one of the six hundred guys think about giving up, and joining with the other side? I mean, valley of death that’s pretty salty stuff. That’s why courage it’s tricky. Should you always do what others tell you to do? Sometimes you might not even know why you’re doing something. I mean any fool can have courage. But honor, that’s the real reason for you either do something or you don’t. It’s who you are and maybe who you want to be. If you die trying for something important, then you have both honor and courage, and that’s pretty good. I think that’s what the writer was saying, that you should hope for courage and try for honor. And maybe even pray that the people telling you what to do have some, too.” I said this quote as a way to show that I have courage but that doesn’t mean I’m anything special. You don’t need to be the main character to be brave or strong or loved. You just need to be the best you can be. If you are faced with a trial, work through it little by little with courage and honor and you will make it to the end. If you don’t feel important or cared for, just show others you care and they will return the favor. Do unto others what they do unto you. -Michael Oher (through the mind of Bailey)

Real Courage

In the book Atticus describes courage as “It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what.” I feel like he is saying look fear in the eye and don’t look away. In the dictionary courage is said to be; the ability to do something that frightens one or having strength in time of pain or grief. I feel like Atticus hit it on point it is just the matter of understanding what he says. To me sometimes I do see it as a man with a gun but I have been raised in a family of law enforcement and military, so my examples of courageous usually have a gun with them its just the matter of what they can do with out it.

In the story to kill a Mockingbird, Even though Atticus knows that he is not going to win the case, he is still going to defend Tom Robinson because he know that it is the right thing to do and you don’t give up on the truth. Yes people might be upset because he is defending him, but what would he think of himself if he was defending the wrong side. This kind of shows us that Atticus does what it right no matter the cost. He also believes in his kids and knows that they will stick with him no matter what he chooses.

To kill a mockingbird so far

I am actually super upset about this book. We are only on chapter seven and yet are at the height of a conflict and this is like conflict three. The way they have written this is so dumb. It’s like background information, conflict, background information, conflict. Their is no story line they are not trying to accomplish one goal. They are stretching this mumble-jumble of information out through thirty chapters and it makes no sense. How old are they going to get. it went through summer in three pages. Plus the though of Boo Radley is giving me nightmares. And I don’t care for the smell of the book.

Climbing into other people’s skins

I think by climbing into other peoples skins it is saying that you need to think what it is like to be them. Think of the situation from their point of view. Like since she doesn’t really like her teacher because she doesn’t know anything, if she thought of what it was like for the teacher then maybe it would help her remember that it is all new to miss Caroline. It’s like in the movies where there are two people and ones like “my life is so hard,” and the other is like “my life is harder.” Then they wake up the next morning and they switch lives and realize both lives are pretty hard and they will stick with the life they have.
