Love moderately

In Romeo and Juliet I think Friar Lawrence is trying to tell Romeo that this marriage is risky and they need to accept some things how they are. This is kind of sad but for their situation it is good advice. Do I think they will take his advice, no they are not moderate people they are taking a huge risk being together. First off everyone knows who Romeo is so if he changes his name people will still recognize him. Plus he is loosing his family and friends and being threatened by Tybalt for this girl he just barley met.

Hatred

Everyone hates, whether they have a reason to do it or not. and most the time they don’t. There is a quote by Nelson Mandela that says “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion … if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love.” In this quote he is trying to get a crossed a really important point. Just think about Romeo and Juliet that hatred between their families had been going on for years and the only reason that it worked that way was because each generation had been taught to hate the other family. If one generation would’ve chosen to drop the hatred maybe their children would of never died, or maybe someone has to go through something tragic to be kind because they are just that arrogant.

Should schools still teach Shakespeare

In my mind, yes he was a poet, but his work was not supposed to be taught in an English class its supposed to be taught in a drama class. If you think about it, in English you don’t sit down and read Our Town or Peter and the Star catcher, or even a Greek play like the Persians in class. Also Shakespeare in not grammatically correct, isn’t the majority of what we are being taught in English surrounds the topic of grammar. The definition of grammar “is a particular analysis of the system and structure of language or of a specific language” and in English class that language is English. Now don’t get me wrong I love learning about Shakespeare I just believe it should be taught in a theatre class.Image result

What I Learned About People

During my interview, I learned that my interviewee has a lot of background. His favorite think to do is bike. His favorite food is ribs. His game show is jeopardy. He doesn’t think he is smart. But I also learned that he has a lot of respect for his friends and family. His big percentage of his heritage comes from Canada and Russia. His big inspiration in his life is his grandfather, who taught him how to work hard and never give up. So yes these interview taught us some fun things about each other but they also showed us a side that we may not have knew before.

Work will work when wishy washy wishing will not

My goal at the beginning of the year was basically just to get an A. At the begging of the year I ended first term with a B second with an -A, but now I am ending third term with an A ( kids cheering). I really am just hoping to keep my grade up through the end of the year. I think the main thing that will help me with that is keeping up on the homework. In first semester when I forgot an assignment, I had an i and it was really hard to get the assignment graded late to give my grade back. When it did usually my grade was lower than it started with because it was late. So that is my plan, check classroom more and pay more attention to the assignments given during class.

What makes a person great

Their are lots of things that makes a person great. But one of the biggest things to me is humility. To me humility is the way you see yourself and others, and the way you treat yourself and others. It is how you compare yourself to someone else and well trying not to do so. I feel like it is hard to have great humility (even harder in jr,high) but everyone should try their hardest to be kind and care for others and not see others as a bad thing. And I believe that, that is what helps a person become great.

to kill a mockingbird book review

This was a good book that taught good moral standards. I feel this is a book that is good for everyone, but to understand it you need to be able to deep think. That is why it is a good book to read as a class, then we can all come together and think about it. My favorite part of the book is when all the women come together at the finches house basically gossip and talk about poor people. I like how scout is their and she basically just thinks that it is dumb, but is also interested in what they have to say because he see the point of view from everyone.

Front Cover

The book was good too, but not as good as the book. They didn’t get the points across as well as the book did. I did like watching to trail in the movie though because the trial in the book was really confusing. So to put it with the faces and actions it made more sense. I like the actors they chose for the movie but I think the only reason that is, is because we watched the beginning before we read the book so through out the whole book that is all i could see them as. I would not do that next time.Image result for to a mocking

Good stuff

In to kill a mocking bird one of the quotes that I like of chapter 22&23 is “They’ve done it before and they did it tonight and they’ll do it again and when they do it–seems that only children weep (243).” In this one they are talking about when they try innocent people and even when they know they are innocent they have to go with human nature even if its wrong and this cycle repeats itself. Only the kids are curious and innocent enough themselves to know and say that it is wrong. They are kind of referring to when dill cried during the trial. This is really significant to what the author is trying to get through to the reader, she wants you to know that everyone knows its wrong and yet, like every time before, they deny the truth.

An Authority on Courage – Michael Oher

Quote from the blindside movie “Courage is a hard thing to figure. You can have courage based on a dumb idea or mistake, but you’re not supposed to question adults, or your coach or your teacher, because they make the rules. Maybe they know best, but maybe they don’t. It all depends on who you are, where you come from. Didn’t at least one of the six hundred guys think about giving up, and joining with the other side? I mean, valley of death that’s pretty salty stuff. That’s why courage it’s tricky. Should you always do what others tell you to do? Sometimes you might not even know why you’re doing something. I mean any fool can have courage. But honor, that’s the real reason for you either do something or you don’t. It’s who you are and maybe who you want to be. If you die trying for something important, then you have both honor and courage, and that’s pretty good. I think that’s what the writer was saying, that you should hope for courage and try for honor. And maybe even pray that the people telling you what to do have some, too.” I said this quote as a way to show that I have courage but that doesn’t mean I’m anything special. You don’t need to be the main character to be brave or strong or loved. You just need to be the best you can be. If you are faced with a trial, work through it little by little with courage and honor and you will make it to the end. If you don’t feel important or cared for, just show others you care and they will return the favor. Do unto others what they do unto you. -Michael Oher (through the mind of Bailey)
