The Book Thief Film Review

Over all I thought it was a pretty decent move IGNORING the fact that they left out or changed a lot of things from the book, but of course, I didn’t expect it to be.

What I thought the movie did well: The think the actors in the movie and how the portrayed the end of the movie were both very great parts. They actors did an over all great job at portraying their characters well and getting the point across.

What I thought the movie did poorly: I think how they put the movie together in the first place was a bit sloppy. There was a lot of jump cuts to different scenes to you can kind of tell what they left out, especially since I had read the book first.

Ways the movie was like the book: I think the characters were very similar to how they acted in the book, the only thing I thought fluctuated was their ages, especially because Rudy looked 8 or 9 instead of 15.

Ways the the movie was not like the book: One obvious thing was they did leave a lot of parts out. One big part was maxes book. But I think in the producers defense it is extremely hard to show someone reading a book and still make it look good and not tacky.

My thoughts on the movie over all: I think it is a good movie if you don’t consider the book. It is a good movie. But a lot of people will say other wise because they are thinking about how different it is from the book. But not thinking about that, it is decent.

I agree, the actors did a pretty good job, there were no terrible actors so it was enjoyable. That’s interesting, I never really paid attention to the jump cuts and everything.

I agree that the movie was really sloppy. I also agree that they left a lot of the parts of the book out of the movie
