Quote: “The more he read, the more he understood how this design could protect someone from forces that would seek to weaken him or her.”

Context: Adrian now has this amulet that has amazing powers to protect you from ill effects. He has been researching it to know its powers because he wants to use it to get to his brother, who has magical abilities so you can’t get close to him.

This makes me think: Reading can give you knowledge and insight on things of life, and other things. He wants to know things that are good to help others. When you want to learn something with ill intent, then it is bad. But when you want to learn something for good then it is a good purpose. Knowledge has power and can be very important, as well as being good or bad.

The Power of Words 2

In the Book Thief , Liesel reads an allegory about a girl, seeds, trees, and words. My interpretation of this story is that words are powerful and can have many different meanings. Her words don’t defeat the Nazis but create a path for those who aren’t completely joined up with the Nazis. Her words help others even after the Nazis topple her tree. Words can continue ever since they left your mouth/brain. Words can cause many effects and consequences. When you care for, seek for, and use words you can wield them with great power and inspiration. With consequences to your words, use words wisely.

Deep Thinker 2.5

Quote: “There were still consequences. There were always consequences, no matter which side she was on.”

Context: She is visiting her fellow anarchists, and she feels like there is nothing wrong or bad about them and their ideals.

This makes me think: Sometimes we feel so comfortable that you feel there are no consequences for your actions, good or bad. One example is drugs. You feel happy, but not the right kind of happiness, then you go to jail, suffer from sickness, lose connections, etc., etc. Sometimes we need to just think about what consequences there could be for our actions. Consequences aren’t always bad, there are good consequences too. There will always be consequences for your actions. We need to think and see what will have good effects and bad effects. Another example is not cleaning your room. You may have some time right then, but the mess in your room will get bigger, and bigger.

Book Review 2.2

What I read: I read Archenemies, by Marissa Meyer. It had 496 pages, was Fantasy, and I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

How it starts: Nova is a full-fledged member of the Renegades who are basically superheroes. She works with Adrian’s patrol unit to maintain order in Gatlon City.

How it gets complicated: Nova is also secretly an Anarchist, a group of villains trying to destroy the Renegades. She wants revenge on the Renegades who didn’t come to help when she needed them most. But Nova’s feelings for Adrian are deepening, even though they are sworn enemies. The Renegades have come up with a strategy to overcome the Anarchists, but Nova and Adrian understand that it could be the end of the city.

What I liked: I love the cool weapons, gadgets, and powers they have in the story. Also, I like how it isn’t just good vs evil, but trying to find the solution the war between good and evil.

What I disliked: There is too much lovey stuff in it making the middle of the book run quite slow. There is also some language.

Recommendation: If you like some action, secrets, and romance this would be a good book for you.
