What I look for in a good character is that they are relate-able and that they are also humanized. I don’t care much for a character that doesn’t care about his actions or take into account what his or her actions will do to the people around them or even what it could do to effect people that they haven’t even met yet. Also, for me personally I need to be able to relate to a character in a story whether it’s the way they act, the choices that they make, their sense of humor, or their views on certain things.
What are the reasons why people read stories? Why do people take time out of their busy lives to read about history or read about something that doesn’t even have the slightest chance of happening in the real world? For some people reading helps them feel happy when they feel sad or help the escape the real world. For me I like to read about things that I wish could happen to me that have a chance of actually happening. I like to read about teenagers who get sucked into a magical world where they have to go fight dragons. That is part of the reason why I and so many other people like to read.
The best book that I have ever read is “The Land: Founding” written by Aleron Kong M.D. One of the reasons that I like it so much is because it is funny and also has a lot of action. Also I really like the main character and feel like I can identify a lot with him and some of the things that he says and does. The main character also has a sense of humor very similar to mine so a lot of the things that he says in the book make laugh. The author also pays attention to details even small things that happened in the first book have an impact on things that happen latter in the series.
