This picture represents when the German Nazis would stop people on the streets.  Some would use violence but most girls found different ways to avoid it by tricking the soldiers.

This picture represents the lack of food that the people of Amsterdam had during the war.  Most people like Hanneke did trading in hidden places for members of the community as well as herself. This is how people continued to stay alive.

This picture represents when Hanneke went to the school to find more information about Miriam.  She wasn’t allowed in the school but she managed to sneak her way in and to find help.
