I think that a good character needs a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset so they aren’t boring and less interesting. I also think that they should have some sort of friend stays with them because some of my favorite characters like Bilbo Baggins, and Harry Potter both have friends or companions that are there with them. Some of my favorite characters are the two stated above, and Percy Jackson. I like those characters because the author gave them some of the key roles in the books that they’re in, and they each have their own story line that I liked. They also had companions that made the characters better.
We read stories because they make boring things more interesting and they help people explain something in a more interesting way then just explaining it to people. Stories have also helped people gain better social interaction because they can learn from the characters on how to interact with people without falling apart. Stories can also help people understand that the Earth is dangerous and you have to be careful about what you do, and it can show how people feel with the choices they make. I think that stories also give something to do besides electronics and social media, and they are more educational.
The best book I ever read was the Hobbit by J.R Tolkien because it was different than most of the other books I read. It was way better than the movie and very different, I liked the movie but the book was way better. I liked how the book had the whole story in whole so I didn’t have to buy three different books. I really liked this book because it had action, adventure, great characters, a great story line and a really good setting. I would definitely recommend this book for those who like fantasy adventures close to this type of book and who are 12 and up.
