The population of Thailand is 69 million. Most people live in Bangkok, with a population of about 8.3 million people. The capital city is Bangkok. Another major city of Thailand is Nonthaburi with a population of about 258,550. Some things to do  in Nonthaburi are Ko Kret ,which is Mon pottery, and Chonlaprathan Rang Srit Temple.

The major language in Thailand is Thai. Thai is a mandatory language which is taught in all schools and English is an obligatory language because of bilingual streets.

As of 2014, 10.5% of the population lives below the national poverty line. 40% of the population work in agriculture-related jobs. Life expectancy for Thailand is 71 years for men and 79 years for women. Buddhism is the major religion in this country.

Siam, as Thailand was officially called until 1939, was never brought under European colonial domination. Independent Siam was ruled by an absolute monarchy until there was a revolution in 1932.

The currency in Thailand is Baht. 1 American dollar is equal to 31.17 Thai Baht.
