Strange Fruit

This poem was one of the saddest poems I have ever read.  I think the saddest part is just knowing that it’s not like the author made any of it up.  This stuff actually happened.  The people that did it were even happy and celebrated what they did.  If they take a look back on everything they’ve done, I think some of them would realize how bad it was.  If only they would’ve been able to realize it before they did it.  I don’t get how anyone could feel that much hatred and anger towards someone.  We all have people we don’t like and never will, but how can someone hate another person enough to Lynch them?  I feel so bad for the people that did but at the same time, I don’t think they even felt that way.  I think they just wanted to watch the people suffer.  Most of the time everyone knew that the black people were innocent but they just didn’t like them.  Not liking someone because of something as stupid as the color of their skin is just plain pathetic and stupid.  You shouldn’t hate anyone for the way they look.  Its not like they can help it, they were born that way.  If the white people would’ve just not looked at skin color and just got to know everyone the same way, none of this would’ve ever happened.
