Promoting Change

We can all agree that there need to be some changes in our society, but who is in charge in making these changes. obviously the government need to make some changes (electing a better president.) But also we can make a change in society today. We do have a responsibility to make change in today’s world. i know that some things we do not have control over because of the government, but we have control over some things too. Us people need to have more of a say in what we do as a country and as a society. People need to be treated with respect and everyone have the same rights. Yes we have come a long way in changing peoples rights but there are still some changes that we can make. We all need to treat each other with respect that’s one of the things we can change. Just think, if everyone was nicer we would live in a much better world.Image result for change

The search for the perfect book

The book that I found most interesting is “If I ever got out of here” written by Eric Gansworth. This book is about a Native American twelve year old boy who is in seventh-grade named Lewis who feels like no one likes him and that he a special force field that isolates him from his classmates. But this year there is a new kid named George in his class and he is hoping to finally have a friend. As Lewis and George start getting to know each other they discover that they both love music and especially the Beatles. Lewis is trying to keep George away from his family because they are very strict about people outside their culture, meanwhile George is being bullied by a boy named Evan and he is trying resist being the target of his bullying.

How I define equality

I have recently read the short story Harrison Bergeron and it talks about everyone being equal. The definition of equality is the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities. How i define equality is that everyone has the same rights and is treated with respect. It doesn’t matter if you are black or white, catholic or jewish, rich or poor, gay or straight, fat or skinny. None of that matters, we should all be treated with the same respect of everyone else. But in the society that we live in everyone is judging people for who they are and it’s not okay. People are out there killing themselves  because of the things people are judging them for. We are having wars because of these things!!!  We are all different and unique in our own ways. It doesn’t matter where you come from everybody should be treated with respect. No one is better than anyone else because in the end, we are all people and we all deserve respect.Image result for equality
