After reading Steelheart I have a more complicated understanding of hero vs villain. I don’t think hero’s need powers to be interesting but it is sometimes very difficult to make just a regular person a hero but Steelheart did it effortlessly. I like that sometimes you don’t know who to root for. Sometimes stories like Steelheart can be so repetitive but Steelheart is so unique and fun to read. I do wish Sanderson went into more detail about Steelhearts backstory and why he is the way he is. In our podcast me and my partner are focusing on why the characters make the decision that they do. Sometimes we were confused on the characters motives so we went into detail to make sense of it.
