What I’m reading

Right now I am reading The Zodiac Legacy Book #3: The Balance of Power. Its really exiting and full of chases, escapes, fighting, alliance, and of course Zodiac signs. Young Stevan Lee has to stop Maxwell (or as they call him now: The Dragon) before he fulfills his evil plan to burn the earth. Alongside Liam, Roxane, Kim, Malik, Duane, Nicky, Jose, and Celine he will try to stop the Maxwell before it’s too late. I have loved this book series a lot and I think it’s a good one. Don’t believe me? Try it out and see if you like it.

Who am I as a reader?

I didn’t entirely enjoy reading a while ago, I didn’t find a lot of books that kept me on the edge of my seat interested. but when I was introduced to Spirit Animals I found exactly what I was looking for in a book: Adventure, Action, Mystery, and Diversity. But when the series came to an end I wondered ‘what other books look good to read?’. Then I moved on to the first book of WereWorld, and I am now reading the last book of The Zodiac Legacy, and when I finish I will continue the series of WereWorld. This is the kind of reader I am.

Why do we read strories

Stories give us inspiration, information, and imagination. The characters can inspire us to do great things and go out there and do something good for someone or do something amazing. The occurring events can deliver some useful information about what might happen later or facts in real life depending on the circumstances. When reading a story you can imagine what the characters look like, what the surroundings look like, what the objects look like, the list goes on. Reading helps you spell better, increases your imagination and sense of adventure. That’s why Hollywood comes out with so many movies about popular books.

How I felt about the story

The Veldt was a pretty surprising story, a man and a woman named George and Lydia and their children lived in a futuristic house that did almost everything for them, it tied their shoes, it made their dinners, it even washed them in the bathtub. Although the main attraction for the children was the digital wall nursery. But the parents would see the same thing every time they walked: A vast Veldt on the plains of Africa with Lions eating a fresh kill under the blazing sun and vultures flying overhead. One day George decides that they needed to make a change and move to Iowa and learn to do things themselves but the children rebelled and locked their parents in the nursery and commanded the room to take care of them and the digital Lions started prowling toward George and Lydia, then both of them screamed. And that was the last sound they ever made. This is one of the freakiest stories I have ever read. And I believe the moral of the story is: Addiction can be a dangerous thing.

How I felt about the first story

The story The Veldt was kind of creepy, a story about George and Lydia who owned a futuristic house that did almost everything for them, but for their kids Peter and Wendy the heart and soul of the house was the nursery. Although, every time they stepped into the virtual reality nursery the walls would take the form of Lions feeding on a fresh kill at a watering hole with vultures flying overhead in Africa.

Shylock’s Message

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

This is Shylock, he is a Jew. In Venice Jews and christians are enemies to eachother and usualy end up in feuds. One christian imparticular despises Shylock the most, and his name is Antonio. One day Shylock walks up to Antonio and says”Why do you hate us so? I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimentions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food? hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a christian is?”, and with every word he said Shylock grew angrier.”If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that”.The next day Antonio came to Shylock asking for a money loan since he was the city loaner. Shylock saw this as an opportunity to get back at Antonio, so he made a deal with him: “I will give you a loan of one thousand duckets, but if you cannot pay me back when the time comes, then you will owe me a pound of your flesh”. Like any other person, Antonio was shook by this deal, but had nothing to worry about since he had three boats full of duckets so he accepted the deal. Little did Antonio know that all three of his ships sank at sea. If it we wasn’t for the law of venice, Antonio would have been dead, but even after all of that Antonio let shylock’s words sink in. So from that day forward, both Shylock and Antonio thought more carefully about what they did.

Who influenced me?

My brother Rigley has been my best friend for 11 years, and my mom and dad have influenced me the most my whole life. My brother Rigley has always been a great impact in my life, he’s always brought me laughter and reassurance in my times of dark and just about any other time, it is a blessing that he exists in my life. I love my mom and dad with all of my heart and I could never bear to say otherwise, because of them I am here on earth today. My mom has taught me to be kind, thoughtful, and trustworthy and my dad taught me courage, rightouseness, and good sportsmanship. I love them to the ends of the earth and beyond, and I am glad to be their son.

Book Reveiw/Sound of Thunder

Rey Bradberry the auther of the story sound of thunder put some pretty good thought into the story. He showed logic, imagination, descriptions, and adventure with good action. Although he could have added a little bit more action to the story. I dub this story 4 stars.
