The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli is one of my favorite books, especially out of those that I’ve read recently. I read it for my AP European History class, and I loved it. The Prince is acclaimed as the first book of modern political science and is still referenced and used today, though generally in more negative terms than Machiavelli may have liked. Machiavelli is known as the first man to bring up the idea that ‘the ends justify the means,’ an idea that is generally looked down on by our society today.
I would recommend The Prince to any reader who likes history, politics, or philosophy. It’s not a very exciting read, but it can be very interesting if it’s the sort of thing you like.
