For this term I’ve chosen to read I’ve Got my Eyes on You by Mary Higgins Clark. This book was published in 2018 by Simon & Schuster. I chose to read this book because my mom likes Mary Higgins Clark’s books so she told me that I should read them so I’ve started to. I also really like mystery books and most of Mary Higgins Clark’s books are mystery. There are 246 pages in my book. There really isn’t a clear main character yet because it is about the police finding out who killed Kerry Dowling.
This book was written by Mary Higgins Clark in 2018. Mary Higgins Clark has over 50 novels published, with millions of copies sold throughout the United States. She was honored in France with the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière in 1980.
The plot/ conflict of I’ve Got my Eyes on You is that Kerry Dowling is found dead in her pool and the police think that is was murder. They all assume that is was her over protective boyfriend, but later that turns to their neighbor who is intellectually disabled young man named Jamie. I think that everyone will think that Jamie is the one who killed Kerry but someone will find out that he is innocent and find the real murderer. This book has 246 pages so I will have to read about 4 pages everyday.
For this term I’ve chosen to read Just Take My Heart by Mary Higgins Clark. This book was published in 2009 by Simon & Schuster. I chose to read this book because my mom really likes Mary Higgins Clark so when I asked her what book I should read, she told me that this was a good book. The main character is a girl named Natalie Raines.
Just Take My Heart was written by Mary Higgins Clark in 2009. Mary Higgins Clark’s full name is Mary Theresa Eleanor Higgins Clark Conheeney, but she just goes by Mary Higgins Clark. She was born on Dec. 24, 1927. She has over 50 novels published, with millions of copies sold all across the United States.
The basic plot is about a girl named Natalie, who accidentally finds out who killed her old room mate, and sets in motion a series of shocking events that put more than one life in trouble. The conflict is that no one knows who killed Jamie Evans, (until Natalie finds out). What I expect from this book is that Natalie will find out who killed Jamie, and once she finds out, she is in danger. Just Take My Heart has 322 pages, and I would have to read 7 pages every day to finish this book by December 6th.
I am reading Sky Raiders by Brandon Mull. It is set in a different universe call the Outskirts and it takes place in October, 2015. The setting in the Outskirts is described as a floating city. It is like a world with on top of the clouds in the sky, and if you fall, you stay falling until you starve to death. In the Outskirts, there is usually more than one sun and is pretty hot all day.
In the Outskirts, the weather is different everyday. There are still the four seasons, but winter could be 4 days and then spring could last a year. There is no way a knowing what the weather will be like the next day. The weather has an impact on the characters, because they are outside doing missions everyday, so if it is really hot or really cold, then it will be really hard to work, because, when you are uncomfortable you don’t want to move around and go work really hard. At one point in the book there is a dust storm/tornado that makes it really hard to go do work because whenever you looked up, you would get dust in your face and eyes.
When the main character, Cole, first comes to the Outskirts, it is really hot, and it is like there is a red sunset all day. Because it was so hot Cole got really tired fast. He had to walk all day so at the end of the day, he was extremely tired and felt like he was going to die. He was also a slave so he didn’t get the proper nourishment, so that didn’t help him. Because of this, he got stronger, and that really helped him through out the rest of his trials. Now he is out running all day and does missions all day and isn’t as tired as when he first came to the Outskirts.
For this term I chose to read Sky Raiders by Brandon Mull. This book was published by Aladdin Paperbacks in March 11, 2014. I chose to read this book because my friend Zoe said that she really liked the book and gave it to me to read in 6th grade, and I never read it, so I thought that I would read it now.
The author, Brandon Mull, wrote Sky Raiders in 2014 in Utah. He is known for his books, Sky Raiders, Fablehaven, and Spirit Animals. Brandon Mull currently lives in Alpine, Utah. He is a part of Young Adult Author list.
The basic plot of Sky Raiders is about an 11 year old boy named Cole, who is trick-or-treating with his friends and they all go into a haunted house and end up getting taken into slavery far away from home. Cole is eager to find and save his friends and go back home. The conflict is that Cole and his friends aren’t with each other, and Cole doesn’t know how to get to them. Cole also doesn’t know anything about the world he is in. I’m assuming that Cole will find a way to defeat the bad people, and save him and his friends. This book has 413 pages. I will need to read 13 pages a day to finish the book on time.
