The population of Laos is 6.858 million. Most of the people live in Vientiane, Vientiane Perfecture, which is also the capital city of Laos. About 210,000 people live there. Pakse is also another major city in Laos.

They have ancient ruins that you can go see. They also have interesting foods that you can try and you can go explore caves and waterfalls.

The major language in Laos is lao.

In Laos there are about 44% lao children under 5 years old are affected by stunting. Since 1996, the areas under slash and burn decreased by 37 percent. The number of households practicing swidden agriculture decreased by over 50 percent contributing to a decrease in deforestation. In the 1980s, the life expectancy in Laos was only 53 years old.

Their population consists of 7.0 million. The fertility rate is 2.9. Illness among many people in Laos is mainly because of imbalances in the body’s spirit. Spirit possession and things as simple as the weather.

Catholics and Protestants constitute about 2 percent of the population. Some minor religious groups include the Baha’i faith, Islam, Mahayana Buddhism, and Confucianism. There are very little people in Laos that have no religion.

A fun fact is that Laos and Thailand speak the same language.
